in whi ch the 38th (Welsh) Division was involved, the most important of these
being the crossing of the Canal du Nord, Gouzeaucourt, Sell e River Crossing
and Normal ]j'orest. During thi s period the ca sualtip.s amounted to 40 officers
and 900 other ranks kill ed and wound ed. The casualties of the battalion, from
its landing in France, were approximate ly as follows: 26 officers kill ed, 48
wounded; 393 other rank s kill ed, 1,073 wounded.
